Question by valerie: is it safe to have sex during 7 day free pill?

it is my first pack of using yasmin birth control pill and im on my fourth day today. so far i dont feel any side effects while using it (cross fingers!) my husband and i had sex during 2nd and 3rd day of taking pill and had a back up method (withdrawal) are we on safe sex?and is it safe to have sex during 7 day free pill?
